Trinbagonian born Diana Benskin to be recognised with Divas of Colour Global Leadership Ambassador Award.

US-based Trinbagonian born Diana Benskin to be conferred with the honour of Divas of Colour Global Leadership Ambassador for her outstanding contributions and support to the Divas of Colour’s global vision. 

She says, “I would like to express my thankfulness regarding the Global Ambassador Award. I do not have the appropriate words to express my gratitude for Divas Of colour for recognizing my efforts in championing the causes of women and girls.”

Faustina Anyanwu, co-founder of Divas of Colour said, “Diana has been a great asset to the works that we do. She has been instrumental in spreading the good works of Divas of Colour and has gone on to take that vision to anywhere she finds the platform, from, the USA to Trinidad and Tobago and all over the Caribbean. We have been truly blessed to have Ms Diana Benskin in our network of women.”

Now retired from a myriad of business careers, she continues to use her talents to empower and lead. She has contributed to www.australiatimespoetry.com and has published three books thus far – Per Ardua Ad Astra, Through Difficulty to Success (The life story of one West Indian Girl.), An anthology of poems (Spoken words from the mouth of this Babe) and The Adventures of Nugget the dog. How Nugget found his way home  (the first in her series of children books).

She is now working on a political anthology, in which she hopes to capture the Current US Administration’s tenancy through poetry – Caesar’s’ Antics, as well as working on another Anthology which she hopes will be utilized in the CARICOM and African Diaspora school curriculum. 

A multi-award winner, including recognition in London by the C. Hub Magazine Creativity and Arts Awards, as well as for Best Spoken word Artiste/ and Best Public speaker.

Ms Benskin has delivered several keynote speeches in London, USA and in Trinidad and Tobago,  contributed to Globespan24x7 which addresses the social pressing issues of the day. At 60, Diana was recently signed to a talent agency and is still available for acting and modelling. 

Diana’s passion, however, is to advocate and champion for women and girls. She says, “Charities and programs that advocate for the betterment of women and girls and young people are at the forefront of my cause.”
