Living with multiple long term health conditions and disabilities including co-morbid mental health conditions and peri-menopause, alongside being a neurodivergent individual
As an individual with multiple long-term health conditions and disabilities, I have encountered considerable discrimination and stigma surrounding mental health and disabilities, which adversely affects my overall health and well-being. Neurodivergent individuals, such as myself, often face additional challenges, including the risk of misdiagnosis, particularly among women.
Having experienced this firsthand, I share my journey of managing my mental health and well-being as a neurodivergent person, along with the strategic resources and support that have been instrumental in this process.
As a person with an eating disorder, it’s hard to manage my mental and emotional state with the weight gain caused by perimenopause. It’d even more challenging as it was shortly after starting a modelling career.
I continue to advocate for disability and support for people with disabilities. I am privileged to make an impact in advocating for changes in the treatment of autistic people with eating disorders and directing them to the PEACE pathway.
